There is a new gold in Oroville, and it is found in mugs, jugs and kegs. Four years ago Western Pacific began as a Brew Pub and Brewery. Brew-master, Andy Klein, produces six house specialties from his own secret recipes. “It’s technique not magic that turns barley, yeast and water into liquid gold – some yellow, some red and some dark brown,” according to Andy who has German ancestry, and admits, “There must be some brewers’ blood in my veins.” He took a University of California at Davis degree in psychology and turned it into the science of alchemy to produce the new gold of Oroville.

Western Pacific brews have been recognized in various city-wide competitions, the Butte County Fair and by local connoisseurs who enjoy a cold one from The City Of Gold.
