Straw House Cellars

Settled in the Sierra foothills, a region that mirrors the climate of Spain, Straw House Cellars specializes in the cultivation of Spanish varietals. Tempranillo, the noble grape of Spain, is similar to a Cabernet and pairs well with tapas, pork, and grilled or roasted entrees, or is perfect on its own. Grower and winemaker, Tom Chase, crafts this robust red wine using old world methods of hand picking and crushing, then aging in American oak barrels. Share a bottle with friends and enjoy!

Oroville State Theatre

The State Theatre was designed by San Francisco architect Timothy Pflueger. It was one of the small local theaters owned and operated by the T&D chain throughout California, a number of which Pflueger designed for the company. The State Theatre was Oroville’s first Spanish Colonial Revival style building, one of only two high examples of the style in the city. See the roof line, the detail along the exterior façade. Much of the original detail and interior finishing has been damaged or removed over the years.
