Bolt’s Museum is proud to welcome Jim Shelby to their “Third Saturday” presentation series. Jim will discuss how the invention and popularity of the automobile throughout the decades shaped the look, features and conveniences of the modern highway system in America. Hear about the development of our highway system – from the rigors of the first transcontinental crossings of the U.S. by automobile in 1903 when dirt paths and virtually no maps, signs or services were available – to our modern highly engineered highway system. (Jim is an author, historian and museum docent.)
