The Friends of the Parks and the City of Oroville will host a festive mistletoe party at the historic C.F. Lott Home on Sunday December 6, 2015, from noon until 4:00 P.M. In 1856 Judge Charles F. Lott held a joyful holiday party for all Orovillians to meet and welcome his new bride Susan Hyer Lott and history tells us that it was a fun time for all who attended.
The free fun afternoon will have traditional bell ringers, holiday music, cookies and punch and an opportunity to see the beautifully furnished and decorated historical home. Long-time docent and Friends of the Parks member Janice Clay said “We are fortunate to be able to carry on this traditional event and to be able to share it with the community who re invited to a delightful holiday visit in an historical home.”
The C.F. Lott Home in Sank Park is located at 1067 Montgomery Street, Oroville. The home features two full floors of tastefully displayed period furnishings, a carriage house with a beautiful 1922 Buick Touring car, caretaker’s cottage, picturesque gazebo, and a full city block of manicured gardens. Also on display is a unique collection of Russian Nesting Dolls that will delight visitors of all ages. Questions about the event or the C.F. Lott Home may be directed to the City of Oroville at (530) 538-2401.
