Chico Women’s Club Ebony & Ivory Concert Grand Finale October 7
The New Orleans blues and jazz styles of guitarist/pianist Alan Rigg and his Trio will headline the Ebony & Ivory Grand Finale Friday evening, October 7, 2016 at the Chico Women’s Club. Alan’s special musical guests The Artful Horns will perform in the concert, as well. The first act is a great barbecue dinner!
The Ebony & Ivory Grand Finale will feature a barbecued chicken dinner on the patio with wine, beer, lemonade, and water. Doors open at 5:30. The cost is $35 and tickets can be purchased online at the Chico Women’s Club website, www.chicowomensclub.org, under “Tickets.” Tickets are also available at Zuchini and Vine, and at The Bookstore (next to Upper Crust) in Chico. For this show purchasing your tickets in advance is highly recommended.
Alan began music at age 6, and was playing in bands by age 12. Rigg’s musical experience includes playing oldies with the likes of Chuck Berry, Little Anthony and blues with Little Milton, B.B. King, and John Mayall. Alan lived in New Orleans for ten years, playing all the great clubs with many great musicians. The trio plays a blend of all styles of contemporary music, with Alan’s New Orleans influence setting the musical mood.
The Ebony & Ivory series features local artists on the newly restored 1911 Steinway B Grand Piano, making the Women’s Club one of the most desirable venues in Chico for piano solo and ensemble performance. Proceeds from E&I concerts will help defray the costs of the restoration.
