The Chico Art Center will host an exhibition for the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) that focuses on Chico people, places and buildings. Historical photographs and memorabilia from the Veterans Building will accompany artwork from monca’s North State collection. The arts have had a large roll in preserving historical places in Chico, including the Chico Art Center, which is housed in the historical train depot on Orange Street. Now, monca is looking to plant its roots at another of Chico’s historical building. Let’s help them get there!
This show will run from February 21 to March 14 with a public reception on Friday, February 21, 5-7pm. Watch for some special culminating events and fundraisers throughout the exhibition.
The CAC exists to help the community appreciate the importance of visual art in our society. Since 1956 we have strived to foster and promote the visual arts through fine art instruction, professional gallery shows and events.
