The outstanding pianist Dr. Robert Bowman will present a solo concert on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Chico Woman’s Club (592 East 3rd Street). I’ve listened to Bob Bowman’s rehearsals on the CWC Steinway Grand. His playing is amazing! The show will be spectacular! Don’t miss this rare solo performance by a truly great pianist on our classic Steinway. The event is the first concert in the 2015 Ebony and Ivory Series. Bob will perform works by Bach, Beethoven, Scarlatti, Chopin, Ravel, and Debussy. Proceeds will benefit the CWC Steinway restoration fund. Doors open at 6 p.m. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Appetizers are free. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Tickets are available at the door ($12) and prior to the concert at the Chico Women’s Club website, www.chicowomensclub.org, under “Tickets”.
Robert Bowman, DMA, keyboard artist, has performed extensively on the West, Midwest and East Coasts of the United States in solo and chamber ensemble recitals, numerous appearances with orchestra, and on radio-tv since 1960. He has also performed solo and ensemble recitals in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Japan, Hawaii, and Mexico.

The Ebony & Ivory series features local artists on the newly restored 1911 Steinway B Grand Piano, making the Women’s Club one of the most desirable venues in Chico for piano solo and ensemble performance. Proceeds from E&I concerts will help defray the costs of the restoration.
“The fully restored 1911 Steinway Grand Piano is now a world class instrument. If it was a violin it would bea Stradivarius.”
– renowned pianist Frederic Hodges, pianist at the 2013 Chico Silent Film Festival
